OUR STORY

THE PROMO

Four years ago, on April Fools Day during the pandemic, two strangers matched on Tinder.

Thanks to Tinder’s new “Passport” feature, Elena, in Toronto, set her location to Austin – dreaming of warmth (and maybe a Green Card 👀).

Nadir, in Tel Aviv, had also set his location to Austin for a business trip that never happened.

Almost 10,000 kilometers apart, one swipe changed everything.

THE COURTSHIP

“Before you marry a person, you should make them use a computer with slow internet service to see who they really are.” -Will Ferrell

So, with the world locked down and 10,000 kilometers between them, Elena and Nadir single-handedly drove up the stock price of Zoom with regularly scheduled Zoom movie dates (complete with calendar invites, of course), which routinely morphed into Zoom “slumber parties” because Nadir’s “free time” started at 7:00 pm EST (2:00 am Israel time).

“I should’ve seen the red flags in the whites of his eyes.” -Elena

THE MEETING

״I think that taking night trains or meeting someone on the road is pretty romantic.״ -John Cusack

They planned to meet at Niagara Falls, following TikTok advice saying it was easier to cross land boarders during lockdowns. So, Nadir flew from Tel Aviv to NYC and drove 8 hours. Elena drove from Toronto.
Border control said... Nice try.
So they did the logical thing: flew to Miami, road-tripped to Key West, and met like totally responsible adults… in the middle of a pandemic.

THE PROPOSAL

On their 3rd anniversary, Nadir recreated their almost meeting: Niagara Falls.
Border control again tried to ruin it by doing a full car search and almost revealing the ring.
But somehow, Elena didn’t notice.
The next day in sunny Key West, he got down on one knee.
She said YES. 💍

THE WEDDING

Because of the circumstances, every time they met was an adventure in a different location around the world. It felt like they were the main characters of a show, so they started calling every meeting a “season” of "their show”.

To this day, they update their chat with the current "season" of their lives. So, after 60 seasons, this series is celebrating with a Fiinale- The Wedding!

We hope to celebrate with you!

(And don’t worry– it might be a finale, but there’s already talk of a whole new “spin off series” – Married Life  ;) )
